āœØ A tribute to someone who has been the heart of t āœØ A tribute to someone who has been the heart of the Bug āœØ Itā€™s hard to put into words what Destany @destanysasaki has meant to Gingerbugs over the years. She started with us when we moved downtown, full of energy and ready to take on the worldā€”and just a few months after we opened our doors, COVID hit. I knew then we had to do whatever it took to keep her employed, because even in the hardest times, she was an incredible part of this place. Over the years, as she entered adulthood, got married, and built her own beautiful life, Destany never stopped holding the Bug together. Through the chaos of COVID and the flood of 2022, she was always a step aheadā€”running things with ease, working harder, and somehow knowing exactly what I needed before I could fall apart. She knew every family, every kidā€™s name, every story. She made every customer feel seen and valued. Looking back, I know deep down that after the flood and everything weā€™d been through, I probably would have closed if it werenā€™t for her. Destany was the steady hand and the bright light that kept us going. These past few weeks of packing up , cleaning, and saying goodbye have been filled with laughter, tears, and so many memories. The overwhelming task of closing wasnā€™t as hard because we were in it togetherā€”and because she was starting her next chapter, too. Destany, it has been such an honor to share this season of your young adult life with you. You are a true light in this worldā€”kind, loyal, and extraordinary in every way. We love you (and Scott!) more than you know. And IF you guys decide to expand your amazing family one day, they will be lovingly be referred to as ā€œDestanyā€™s childā€ šŸ˜‰šŸ¤£ Thank you for everything. šŸ§”šŸ’š you truly are amazing, to know you is to love you. šŸ˜ This is not goodbye, but see you later!

Now theyā€™re almost 12 and 16 and Gingerbugs has shaped their childhood too. This space has been a part of OUR family story just like yours. So many memories, so much growth and so much love.
